ASTRONOMY GROUP.

Leader Keith Turl.  They meet at dates and times dictated by weather conditions.  Of course they hope to go outside to do some observations, but this is not always possible.  At present they are studying constellations which are the A to Z of the sky as a basis for further knowledge.  Prior knowledge of Astronomy is not necessary, just an interest.

BIRDWATCHING & FIELD STUDIES.

Leader Mary Briggs. Dates and times arranged at each meeting.  Our aim is to examine local bird life and habitat including the flora and fauna.  We also go on occasional outings with the R.S.P.B. including coach trips and river cruises.

BOSTON WANDERERS.

Leader Dot Ware. Third Thursday of each month at 10.00am.  Walks of no longer than 1.5 hours, travelling time to start of walk no longer than 1/2 hour.

BRIDGE for IMPROVERS'

Leader Pauline Rawlings. Meets every Wednesday at 2pm.  Open to players who know the rudiments of the game.  The focus is on playing for enjoyment in addition to learning the conventions and the more advanced aspects.

CANASTA GROUP.

Leader Janette Wilkinson.  They meet on the 1st, 3rd & 5th Friday (If there is one) of each month.  Members wishing to learn most welcome.

CARPET BOWLS.

Leader David de Groot. Second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 10.00am.  Never a dull moment!  Novices and experienced hands are all welcome.

CROQUET GROUP.

Leader David Matthews.  Meet at 2pm. Choice of days during the summer months.  Friendly and competitive,  help available for beginners.

DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY.

Leader David Mattews. They meet on the first Thursday of each month at 2pm.  Group of enthusiasts who aim to teach each other through knowledge and enthusiasm.

DISCUSSION GROUP.

Leader John Richards. Third Wednesday of each month at 2pm.  Topics are invited.  Friendly and lively discussion on many subjects.  Come and have your say.

FRENCH CONVERSATION.

Leader Malcolm Downie. Fourth Wednesday of each month at 1.30pm.  Tout est dit dans le titre - c'est a dire que nous essaierons de parler francais, avec plaisir.

HARDY PERENNIALS.

Leader John Evans. Second Wednesday of each month at 2pm.  To visit nurseries and garden centres besides doing a lot of swapping of plants

HISTORY GROUP.

Leader Jill Pepper. Third Monday of each month at 2pm.  Each month a member of the group chooses a topic of historical interest and read up on it ready for the following months discussion.  Some topics may extend over more than one meeting and where possible an outing or two is arranged to visit places of historic interest.

HOLIDAY FRENCH.

Leader Sandra Turl.  First Wednesday of each month at 1.30pm.  Members must have learned some French, even if it was when they were at school.  We aim to equip ourselves with enough French to be able to speak to French people when visiting France, to make ourselves understood whilst travelling, staying in hotels and shopping.

LACEMAKING GROUP.

Leader June Salmon.  Meets every Monday at 2pm.  To learn the rudiments of bobbin lace and to continue to practice these skills.  Some equipment available for any new members interested.

LINCOLNSHIRE CHURCH ARCHITECTURE.

Leader Jill Pepper.  First Monday of each month at 2pm. Meet to discuss the various forms of Church architecture and to visit churches within the county which portray good examples of same.

Leader Chris Waterfield.  First Tuesday of each month at 2pm.  This group discusses and carries out research in the development of Boston area.

LUNCHEON GROUP.

Leader Alun Israel.  Dates & times are listed in NEWSLINE.  Meetings are from September until May.  The meal is cooked and served by students of Boston College.

MODERN HISTORY GROUP.

Leader Malcolm Downie.  Fourth Monday of each month at 2pm.  Discussion and study is early 20th Century onwards.

MUSIC APPRECIATION GROUP.

Leader Avril Frankcom. First & Third Fridays of each month.  The aim is to listen to, enjoy and learn about music in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.  No special musical knowledge is required.  Members take turns in 'researching' and presenting their topic.

OUTINGS GROUP.

Leader Merlyn Murphy. Dates & times are arranged for each outing.  After the group has agreed the programme for the year, members take turns to organise the outings.  This includes destination, transport and finance when necessary.

THEATRE GROUP.

Leader Pat Saunders.  Last Tuesday of each month at 2pm.  Visits arrange to local and the West End of London, covering theatre, musicals, ballet, ice shows, puppetry and more.  The opportunity to discuss what we have seen is welcomed at the monthly meetings.

WALKING GROUP.

Leader Dorothy Parlabean. Last Wednesday of each month at 10.30am.  One fairly local walk is announced at each General Meeting.  Slips are available giving full details regarding place, time, instructions, parking and where lunch will be.

WINE APPRECIATION GROUP.

Leader David Clarke.  Fourth Tuesday of each month at 7pm.  Members take turns to host the meeting and present the agreed selection of wines.  Other activities include lunches and dinners with selected wines.
